PKM Gallery invites Frieze VIPs to a private tour and cocktail reception to celebrate the opening of a solo exhibition by Yoo Youngkuk (1916-2002), a first-generation Korean modernist and pioneer of abstract art.
Currently in Venice as a Collateral Event of the 60th Venice Biennale, "A Journey to the Infinite: Yoo Youngkuk" (Fondazione Querini Stampalia, 4. 20-11. 24) marks the artist’s first solo exhibition in Europe which has received affirmative reviews globally. Building on the success of the Venice exhibition, PKM Gallery will showcase approximately 40 pieces, including some of Yoo’s unreleased works, throughout the main building and annex at the upcoming show.
The tour will be held twice, at 7PM and 7:30PM, with each tour lasting 30 minutes. Following the tours, the reception will begin at 7:30 PM and continue until 10PM at PKM Garden. You can explore the exhibition, which embraces the essence of Korea’s nature, and enjoy the late-night view of downtown Seoul in early autumn.
